Boudoir | Central Utah Boudoir Photographer

I know this can be a controversial area of photography and everyone is most certainly entitled to their own opinion.  Here is mine.  I understand that some people are uncomfortable with it and would never themselves do it.  Some women think it is great and can’t wait to get in front of the camera.  Some women are shy about it, a little uncomfortable, but want to see how it turns out.  If you aren’t comfortable with it, that’s fine!  No one is saying you have to do one.  But… PLEASE, do not judge those who do.  It is their choice and it has nothing to do with anyone else.  If a beautiful lady posts one to FB or whatever, save the hurtful comments.  A few of these ladies have been kind enough to let me use their photos for promotion and I can’t thank them enough.  Again, you are obviously more than welcome to your own opinion, but please, this is my art and yes I consider this a beautiful form of art; keep the HURTFUL comments to yourselves and feel free to spread the encouraging ones, the supportive ones and kind ones

SO, on it’s face, boudoir photo shoots’ end result is to give a gift to a significant other to maybe spice up the romance.  What I found and what I know other women have found is that it ends up being for themselves more than anything else.  The chance to get pampered; have your hair and make up done by professionals.  The chance to wear a sexy little nighty,  some lingerie or even just some tight jeans and to feel sexy.  To feel like a beautiful, sensual, sexy WOMAN.  It doesn’t have to be super racy.  The photo shoot depends on you and what you want.  There is a way to shoot classy, beautiful boudoir photos.  Maybe in the end, your husband/sign. other loves them just as much as you do and he can see you in a new light!  I guess my message goes out more to mothers whose entire identity has become her children (which is totally fine) and wants to do something for herself and her husband.  There are many other occasions where a boudoir shoot would be an excellent gift or just something to change it up!  Anyway, I have had the opportunity to photograph some seriously beautiful women and only post photos that I have permission to post.

Spring-ish? | Central Utah Family & Child Photographer

Today, after being sick for weeks, I finally had the energy to take my kids out to a little location just a few blocks from where we live.  The light was beautiful and the kids were fairly happy!  It’s so funny that I spend large amounts of time scouting new locations and thinking of new ideas, etc. and this adorable little place is just down the street.  I have much bigger ideas for this place that need to be done very quick and I hope to be posting even more photos pretty soon!  I hope you enjoy and even though my babies cannot read this yet, I want to tell them how much I love them.  I am not always a happy mother or a nice one, but one thing is for sure; when I look at them, my heart melts and nothing makes my day more than Lincoln telling me that he loves me 500 times.  I love Lydia’s smile and her sweet and sassy personality.  I love Maddie’s sweetness and her posing, dancing, silly faces, bossiness, and the fact that she in incredibly beautiful inside and out.  I love that Lincoln has to have a car or truck in his hand 24/7, even while he sleeps.  This was a rare half an hour that he didn’t.  I love that he has the cutest little red cheeks and the funniest blonde fluffy hair.  I love that he is sooo much like my little brother used to be and you can often hear him screaming, “I hate Terra”, “Leave me alone”, and “Stop looking at me”.  I LOVE my kiddos and even though sometimes I am at my wits end, I miss them every minute I am not with them.

Baby Jackson | Central Utah Newborn Photographer

HEY!  It has been way too long since I have blogged.  Poor neglected blog. :(  BUT, here I am with a new will to make sure that the neglect does not happen again!  I have so many past sessions that need to be blogged, but for now I am just going to try and stay current!  SO, our first session with sweet little Jackson was full of tears and Jackson was not having any of it!  With thoughts of my sister, Kristi of Kristi James Photography, coming to visit in a few days, we rescheduled and Kristi so kindly mentored me through the session.  Jackson did amazing and slept like a dream.  I cannot thank Kristi enough for allowing me to shadow her during this session.  Not to mention that she did not have any of her normal equipment, blankets, etc with her and she still knocked it out of the park.  I also want to thank Jackson’s Mommy & Daddy; they were amazing and have THE cutest little guy!

The Coates Family • Central Utah Family Photographer

I love this family.  We all grew up together and it is so fun to everyone all grown up with kiddos (adorable kiddos) and so happy with great families.  We made it quick again because it was NOT warm and the babies weren’t exactly enjoying the cold.

This family is so creative and beautiful and it was so fun to be able to do their pictures- Thanks Coates Family!

Somoa and Grandpa & Grandma Fannin

I have been MIA on the blog in the last few months and I am sad that I have been!  We have had some fun things going on.  I have posted a lot of pictures to Facebook, but have neglected my poor blog!  Don’t forget about us and I have made a goal to be better at this!  It was a busy Holiday season here at our house and that is putting it lightly.  From the holidays themselves to birthdays, baby’s surgery, much needed family time and nephews making our hearts stop for a second.  If you haven’t read this blog post from my sister, Kristi, of Kristi James Photography, I really suggest reading it.

So!  I am going to blog post overload you in the next few days! Here we go!

I have some great grandparents!  Years ago my Grandpa & Grandma Fannin served an LDS mission to Samao!  Around 1911 my grandpa’s Aunt Minnie (who basically raised him) and her husband Joe were the first white missionaries in Samoa and completed A LOT of great and amazing things during their time there.  They also brought back a lot of great things back that were at some point given to my grandpa.    It was really great that G&G Fannin were able to serve their mission there as well and they too accomplished many great things there.

Our great friend Mindi came up this great idea to do a photo session of G&G and all of their artifacts and in their super fun Samoan clothes!  Here is what we came up with!  Oh, P.S.  Are they not the cutest couple ever?  They argue and according to each other, neither can tell a story correctly, but I have never seen a couple so cute with each other after 50+ years of marriage.
